Q: When a guy asks you out, do you tell him? Do you go out with him?
Jenna Jameson: Well, I really do get asked out a lot, but in the beginning, you know before I was doing movies, I didn't get asked out a lot because you know, I was the pretty girl and I think I intimated people. But now that I'm a star and people know my personality I think they feel like they know me so their like "Oh, hey Jenna my buddy, what's up! I would love to date you and this and that." I'm very shy when it comes to that sort of thing. I'd really rather a guy not be a huge fan of me. I don't like people to be in awe of me because I'm a very regular person and it's strange to me when people treat me like "Oh my god, it's Jenna". I have a boyfriend now and he pretty much was exactly the way I wanted him to be. He wasn't like overly impressed by me but at the same time he told me how he really incredible he thought I was. He wasn't always like "Ahhh, JENNA" which is cool. I appreciate it when people think I'm great but I don't know if I would go out with someone who knew who I was. I would definitely, rather him not know... but if he's cute - well who knows. ;-)
Q: Who is your favorite porn stud?
Jenna Jameson: I would have to say Peter North. He's been in the business a long time and he really knows what he's doing. I look at this kind of like a business in that I like to go in, do it and go home, and I like Peter because he gets me out of there quick.
Q: Do you prefer men or women?
Jenna Jameson: Oh, this is a hard one. I love women, but I have to say, I prefer men. When I was younger I liked women, but I think it was the whole newness of women and I had a girlfriend for a long time, Nikki Tyler. We were together for about two or three years but I certainly have to say that I love men. I'm a one man women, or however that goes. ;-) I love men! But don't get me wrong. I love women, but I'm more into relationships now. I think I partied my heart out when I was young. I'd like to have a normal sort of family thing now.
Q: How do you go from being a total unknown to a porn queen?
Jenna Jameson: I got into this business probably about 4 years ago, but it seems like 10. Originally, I'm from Las Vegas. I started out as a show girl when I was 16 and realized there was no money so I decided to start topless dancing.
While I was doing that I thought hey why not start doing magazines and I always wanted to do Penthouse and Playboy when I was younger, so I went ahead and did it. I got a lot of covers and was pretty much making the basis of my money from photographs. As soon as you start doing magazines, adult companies start propositioning you. They love it when girls crossover from magazines to movies. I always thought to myself, no way would I ever do that.So anyway, I got some pretty good offers from a directory named Andrew Blake. If any body knows who he is, he's amazing and does beautiful, beautiful work. So I figured, okay it's softcore. No problem. I can handle that. So I did it.
At the time, I was living with Nikki Tyler so we did the softcore movies together. Then I thought, okay maybe I'll do girl/girl. They're offering me a lot of money and girl/girl is something I have no problem with and it's not that hardcore. So I started doing that. It's a very big transition from doing girl/girl to boy/girl work and it took a lot for me to start doing that but I did a few movies for Randy West and then a few others that I HATED! I just HATED those movies.
That pretty much made me say, you know what, this isn't what I want and I'm going to take a little while to get my head together. So I did that and I realized that the adult business is very lucrative and you can make a lot of money and be very successful and the only way to be successful is to go in and get what you want and realize that you are an asset to these companies and they are not an asset to you. So pretty much I went in and said listen, I want to be the #1 porn star ever and that's what I am going to do whether you help me or not. I went into Wicked Pictures and said that to them. Me and my 19 year old ass saying "Oh yah, I am going to be the queen". ;-) I think they must have liked my confidence and backed me which I really appreciated. I've gotten a lot of offers for contracts from Vivid and quite a few other companies but I decided to go with Wicked because I would be the only contract girl so that's how it all came about. So I think I stuck to my guns and did what I set out to do: became #1.
Q: How has your relationship with Wicked been?
Jenna Jameson: I think Wicked and Jenna Jameson have been the perfect pair. Before I came to Wicked, I think that Wicked didn't really have it's 'name'. They had Chasey Lain, but they need someone that put them over the edge. And they owe that to me. And I think I owe a lot of my success to Wicked because I don't think I would be the person I am without their publicity and promotion.
